We looked at the patent landscape concerning the Coronavirus over a 20-year period, which covers patents and patent applications from all patent offices around the world. Companies such as Zoetis, Immunomedics, and Kineta rank as top assignees in various categories, while the bulk of patenting activity remains largely in the academe, averaging from 50-60% of the various dataset categories.
