Patent applications provide valuable insights regarding innovation trends, emerging technologies, and R&D investments. Our data reveals that 155,900 patent applications were filed at the USPTO in FY 2023 (October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023). 

Samsung claims the top position as the leading patent filer in the United States, with 4,996 patent applications, closely followed by Huawei and Canon. Notably, top patent filers, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, Toyota Motor, Apple, and LG Electronics, are also the primary recipients of patent grants in 2023. Huawei, Google, and Seiko Epson are new additions to the top list.
