We are thrilled to welcome Karel Pabeliña, PhD and Jan Bugante who are joining Parola Analytics, Inc. as Principal Analysts, Science and Technology. Dr. Pabeliña and Mr. Bugante will be focusing on performing research, analysis, and preparation of reports for our clients on various subject matter that include advanced materials, alternative energy technology, materials fabrication processes, photonics, and electronic devices.
Dr. Pabeliña has over nine years of laboratory research experience at the Plasma Physics Laboratory of National Institute of Physics at the University of the Philippines (Diliman) focusing on low temperature plasma for various applications such as plasma sterilization, surface modification, etching and deposition. She was most recently a Staff New Product Introduction Engineer at SunPower Philippines Manufacturing Limited where she received the “SunPower Prism Award for Innovation” for developing a new metrology for detecting reverse backsheet. At SunPower, she was responsible for developing, qualifying, and integrating new materials and products to existing product lines or new technologies for high volume manufacturing and global deployment. She managed cross-functional teams to drive projects from development to full deployment stage.
Mr. Bugante was previously Senior Researcher at the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Physics at the University of the Philippines (Diliman). He has conducted research leading towards a PhD in Physics and already has several published papers on different subject matters including terahertz detection and emission. His research focus was on novel methods of synthesis of cuprate-based high-temperature superconductor thin films and few-layer graphene. He was recently a Staff Device Engineer at SunPower Philippines Manufacturing Limited responsible for new product development and deployment, yield and process improvement, and failure analysis. He also managed cross-functional teams to address yield issues and yield improvement.
Both Dr. Pabeliña and Mr. Bugante will be working with Dr. Nikko Quevada, Parola’s lead scientific advisor. Dr. Quevada said that the hiring of Dr. Pabeliña and Mr. Bugante will significantly strengthen the company’s technical capabilities and go a long way towards enhancing the quality of the products and services we provide to clients. He also added that their addition to the company’s roster will help ensure that any of the clients’ more specialized research requirements will be fully addressed.
