This prior art search report presents the mappings of the various elements of claim 1 of U.S. Patent No. 9,508,089 (’089 Patent), titled “Method and systems for directing profile-based electronic advertisements via an intermediary ad network to visitors who later visit media properties”, from assignee AlmondNet Inc., published on 29 November 2016.
This patent discloses a method of directing electronic advertisements by a behavioral targeting (BT) company’s computer system. When users first visit a website, each visitor computer is redirected to an ad network computer controlling an advertising space on a third-party media property without transferring any profile information related to the user. The ad network then arranges for each visitor computer to be electronically tagged with a tag that is readable within the domain of the ad network and identifies each visitor computer to be associated with the BT company. The profile information collected is then recorded and maintained by the BT company. The ad network is also provided a price cap that the BT company is willing to pay for allowing the delivery of targeted advertisements within the media property spaces controlled by the ad network, which is then served to the tagged users when they visit those media properties at a later time.
