A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Vincent Violago
CEO & FOUNDER
It is undeniable how much AI has progressed and is now deeply integrated into nearly every aspect of an organization: from operations, strategy, down to the understanding and management of intellectual property assets.
At Parola Analytics, we embrace the use of AI in areas where efficiency and the reduction of repetitive manual tasks are needed. While we recognize the magnitude of possibilities that AI can bring, we also acknowledge the current limitations and gaps of the technology when applied to patents, and intellectual property in general. From potential biases to issues with confidentiality and security, even as integration becomes inescapable, it becomes equally imperative to thoughtfully analyze how AI should form part of our strategy and your IP ecosystem.
We are vigilant in establishing company-wide policies where AI is an absolute no-go, particularly when it involves handling confidential, proprietary information from our clients.
In our efforts to provide actionable insights to our clients, we are constantly dealing with vast amounts of patent data. We use AI to streamline repetitive tasks such as bulk data analysis, semantic clustering, or identifying patterns, enabling our analysts to spend more time on a deeper analysis of trends and emerging technologies.
We continuously develop internal AI tools for data analysis, be it for text mining, data normalization, domain categorization, and visualization, among others. These tools help us uncover clearer patterns in technology landscapes, insights to competitor portfolios, and innovation trends.
In our patent landscape and other insight reports, we disclose where AI is used in the process, and ensure that all conclusions and insights can be replicated and traceable back to verifiable sources.
AI-powered tools that we developed internally help us cast a wider net by analyzing millions of patent and non-patent documents faster than traditional methods alone, reducing the risk of missed prior art, evidence of use, and more.
AI enables semantic and context-based searches that allow our analysts to retrieve potentially relevant public disclosures using natural language prompts. Our AI tools also play a central role in optimizing our keywords and search strategy.
Apart from our internal AI tools, we also highlight key initiatives from other innovators like PQAI.
PQAI is an AI-powered patent search tool developed to help patent researchers practitioners perform more accurate prior art searches. This is an initiative by Sam Wellner, former Executive Director for Innovation at AT&T, and now CEO and founder of InspireIP. Throughout the years, we have worked with Sam on various IP projects.
The tool leverages AI to filter out the noise when looking into vast amounts of technical literature. And here is where we find AI the most useful in patent searches. Instead of sifting through thousands of (likely) irrelevant results through keyword search string-based searchers, PQAI uses natural-language-based patent search to further optimize search results.
Find out more about PQAIWe have also worked extensively with Fastinform in developing an AI-powered intelligence platform. Fastinform is founded by Marius Meland, founder of Law360.
This powerful AI-backed platform tracks developments across news, regulations, litigation, securities filings, scientific research, clinical trials, patents, and trademarks.
By having a platform that has specialized, targeted sources, it allows us to hone in on important publications that may have otherwise been skipped by conventional web search engines.
Parola plays an active role in developing and refining this platform, bringing human expertise to ensure the technology consistently delivers value. Our contributions include:
By combining Fastinform’s AI infrastructure with Parola’s analytical expertise, the platform continuously evolves into a more precise, trustworthy, and client-ready intelligence solution.
Find out more about FastinformRecently, Parola Analytics has started to become a marketing partner for Junior, an AI-assisted patent drafting tool
This tool was developed by patent attorneys for IP practitioners. Led by Yuri Eliezer, CEO of Junior, the team has made it possible to cut patent drafting time by 50-70%, and introduced these key features:
At Parola Analytics, we ensure that every AI-supported output is validated by experienced researchers. Clients receive results that are both data-driven and expert-verified.
We recognize the potential of AI in patent research. However, as dedicated champions of innovation, we also place the highest value on confidentiality of information and the protection of intellectual property.
To safeguard client trust and confidentiality, our company adheres to these strict internal policies.
By using AI thoughtfully, and knowing (and being vigilant) where and when not to use it, we can ensure our clients benefit from innovation without compromising security and trust.
