Product teardown for competitive intelligence

Parola Analytics conducted a comprehensive product teardown and technical analysis of the competitor’s device.

This required a hardware reverse-engineering approach, combining board-level analysis, PCB architecture expertise, and identifying the proper imaging techniques to identify critical components and map their structure and functionality against the patents.

Sensor identification

We examined the internal components to determine the presence and function of sensors equivalent to those described in the patent, verifying they could perform the claimed measurements.

Multi-layer PCB analysis using non-destructive 3D X-ray CT imaging

Using non-destructive imaging, we analyzed the board’s layered structure and confirmed consistency with the patent’s functional claims. The teardown preserved the device for additional analyses, including potential material and software review, under guidance from legal counsel for strategic IP decisions

Component analysis and functional verification

Additional internal modules and chips were identified and assessed for their function, with internal connections traced to ensure alignment with the patent’s claimed features.
