Sensor identification
We examined the internal components to determine the presence and function of sensors equivalent to those described in the patent, verifying they could perform the claimed measurements.
The Challenge
A global energy technology company specializing in solar power systems, with a substantial patent portfolio protecting its core innovations, needed to determine whether a competitor’s device infringed key patents within its portfolio.
The challenge was significant: the relevant features were internal structural and functional elements, making a traditional document-based analysis insufficient.
Before pursuing enforcement, the client required technically defensible evidence, grounded in the real-world architecture of competitor products, to support strategic decisions and provide a robust record for counsel.

The Solution
Parola Analytics conducted a comprehensive product teardown and technical analysis of the competitor’s device.
This required a hardware reverse-engineering approach, combining board-level analysis, PCB architecture expertise, and identifying the proper imaging techniques to identify critical components and map their structure and functionality against the patents.
